Acne

Acne is a skin disease, which occurs most commonly during adolescence although it can affect adults as well.
It is caused by a blockage of sebum within skin follicles. Acne often occurs alongside a hormonal imbalance.

Acupuncture and specific herbs can help this condition.

Arthritis

Arthritis or degenerative joint disease is a result of age or trauma to joints.

Acupuncture cannot heal arthritis, but can minimise the pain caused by it.

Inflammation and stiffness of the joints indicates a stagnation of energy flow. By enabling the energy to flow again, acupuncture can reduce the swelling and thus reduce pain.

Acupuncture in combination with Chinese herbs improves the condition of joints, muscles and tendons.

Asthma

Asthma (from the Greek ἅσθμα, ásthma, "panting") is a common chronic inflammatory disease of the airways characterized by variable and recurring symptoms, reversible airflow obstruction and bronchospasm. Common symptoms include wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, and shortness of breath. An asthma attack can occur when the patient is exposed to triggers such as allergens or irritants, during a cold or in response to heavy exercise. The severity of the symptoms differs per patient, varying from moderate to life-threatening cases.

Asthma is thought to be caused by a combination of genetic and environmental factors.
Allergies are often the underlying factor.
Acupuncture and Chinese herbs can help resolve this problem.

Bell's Palsy (Facial Nerve Paralysis)

Bell's Palsy is a sudden peripheral paralysis of the cranial nerve VII ('the facial nerve') causing the muscles in the face to weaken or become paralysed.

This paralysis is not rare and can occur at any age. The patient can notice, for example, a slight one-sided facial droop in the morning; one corner of the mouth hanging low, and the eye on the same side unable to shut properly.

Acupuncture can help overcome this paralysis.

Bio-HCG

Doctor Veronique Merrell-Keijzer successfully treats obesity and excess weight by means of the 'Bio HCG treatment', which causes a weight loss of 2 to 4 ounces per day within 24 or 40 days. Even the shorter treatment results in an average weight loss of approximately 14 pounds, all in the 'right' places. The treatment results in weight loss in the hips, buttocks, stomach and thighs rather than losing fat from your face or breasts. The Simions treatment also minimises cellulite.

This treatment can help eliminate diseases such as type II diabetes or high blood pressure.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)

A chronic fatigue syndrome often occurs subsequent to a viral infection such as glandular fever (also known as mono or Pfeiffer's disease).
The syndrome can also occur after a long period of stress, the patient can "deplete" their stress hormone. Infections and stress should then be treated with acupuncture in combination with Chinese herbs.

Cold hands and feet

Cold hands and feet are frequently thought of as typical for women, even though many men suffer from this discomfort too.

Acupuncture can improve and regulate the flows of energy and blood to the peripheries of the body.

COPD: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

COPD is a chronic lung disease that causes minor inflammations and wounds to occur on the lungs. Symptoms include shortness of breath, coughing and sputum production.

Medical treatment in the form of medication is necessary. Physical therapy can help to maintain the condition of the lungs and muscles.

Acupuncture can help fight fatigue. Patients with COPD have experienced positive effects after acupuncture and Chinese herbs, mainly an improvement in breathing, thus reduced shortness of breath, which causes patients to feel much better.
